We tagged along on a quick work trip to Jakarta, Indonesia with the husband.
We were there just for the weekend, so we didn't get to see much.
Jakarta is known for it's horrendous traffic.
It felt like it took the whole weekend just to get from one place to another.
We pretty much stayed close to our hotel in downtown. We visited with an old family friend from Dallas, who has been teaching in a small village. He took us out to experience real Indonesian cuisine and helped us shop for souvenirs.
Little trivia for you, did you know Indonesia has the largest number of Muslims in the whole world. The popular misconception is always thinking that it's the Middle East.
Just thought you might want to know :)
I knew that about Indonesia!
ReplyDeleteI did know that! How is it that Indonesia has so many Muslims so far away from it's origins. Would love to know the history.
ReplyDeleteIt's just that they have a bigger population. Also Islam is a universal religion, not the religion of Arabs, like some might think. China also has a huge number of Muslims.
