Do you ever feel overwhelmed with your day to day?
With the kids, dinner, laundry, work, school... the list goes on.
I've been finding it hard to get motivated lately.
Maybe the lack of Vitamin D :)

What are things you do to get motivated?

  1. Hey Iman! Love your blog.
Motivation. Hmmm. I'm a big believer in breaking the monotony. I sometimes have a day where I do no house chores but instead watch I Love Lucy or read a lot. The next day the house is usually a wreck and I am refreshed and ready to dig in. Sometimes we all (kids too) need a break in the monotony so we all take the day off and walk downtown to lunch and the museum or up to Vancouver to the Aquarium if I'm feeling ambitious. The next day we all seem ready to buckle down and get back into it.
Of course sometimes it doesn't work. The next day I'm feeling just as unmotivated. In that case I play a little game with myself where I put myself on a reward system. If I can get the floors cleaned, or the bathroom cleaned, or the bills paid, or some other chore I hate done, then I get a guilt-free chocolate bar and half hour to myself with myself to read or whatever.
What's funny is that I'm having a terribly un-motivated morning. Have a repair guy coming to fix the oven so I can't take the day off of chores and there is no chocolate in the house. Help!
