There is no shortage of beautiful mosques in Malaysia.
Living in KL we are only a short distance from some very majestic beauties.
The mosque being a place of worship for Muslims is always a serene place to be.
But none more so than during the holy month of Ramadan.
The energy that radiates from the people can never be duplicated any other time of the year.
We've been lucky enough to pray in a few of the mosques in the area this month.
(look for more mosque posts soon)
One being the Putra Mosque or the Red Mosque in PutraJaya, 45 minutes from our house.
This mosque was built in 1997 and took around two years to complete. It sits proudly at the edge of the man-made PutraJaya lake. It's definitely a sight to take in after sunset.
It's construction was inspired by Persian Islamic architecture and it's
red hued granite gives it a unique twist.
{circa August 2011}
We first visited this mosque last year in August.
Since then I've been back only a couple of times, one being last night for the night prayers.
It's a lovely place that leaves me with fond memories.
